Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, fear of the virus had caused a negative impact on the restaurant business in Flushing, and hand sanitizer shortage everywhere. Joined by New York City councilman Peter Koo, Community Board 7 District Manager Marilyn McAndrews, local restaurant owners, Flushing BID announced the launch of a new initiative "Keep Flushing Clean and Safe for All" by distributing FREE hand sanitizers to over 150 local restaurant businesses to better serve consumers. Under the initiative, an Open to All hand sanitizing station will be installed at the Flushing information kiosk, which we encourage everyone to use.
