Applications are Open for BRIC Media Share 2019!

BRIC Media Share is an New York Emmy award winning, in-kind grant program for Brooklyn-based and Brooklyn-affiliated nonprofit organizations tell their unique story.

During a 10-12 month grant cycle, staff from selected organizations take custom media classes, get paired with professional mentors and learn how make video & podcasts projects to move their own missions forward.

All projects air on Brooklyn Free Speech broadcast & digital channels. Plus, participants have on-going access to equipment and distribution.

The workshop will provide:

  • Quick refresher on impact measurement

  • "4 rights" of presenting your data

  • How to identify stakeholders and what they need

  • Tool to prepare and use your findings

Sexual Harassment Prevention Training for CBOs

This webinar will provide information on:

What constitutes sexual harassment and examples of such conduct

  • Applicable laws and remedies to victims

  • Responsibilities of supervisors in addressing and preventing harassment

  • Bystander intervention

  • Complaint process available through federal, NY state and city agencies

  • Prohibition of retaliation and other protected activity

FastTrac is a series of entrepreneurship courses offered by SBS for aspiring and established entrepreneurs throughout New York City.

Please share with your networks of entrepreneurs and existing small businesses!

Interested entrepreneurs can apply here to gain the knowledge and skills they need to launch and grow their business – and connect to a network of experienced facilitators, business experts, and other successful business owners across NYC.

Applications Open for Support Center's Leadership Collaborative 2019

Now in its fifth year, Support Center’s Leadership Collaborative engages emerging social sector leaders in a structured peer group to support, advise, and inspire their fellow leaders.

The program’s goals for participants include:

  • Increase awareness of leadership style by providing a safe space for growth;

  • Strengthen strategic decision making skills through case studies and a capstone project;

  • Gain tools to invoke change in the organizations and communities served.

Through ten in-person gatherings, participants learn creative solutions to management, operations, and sustainability challenges. Since its inception in 2012, the program has trained a diverse group of leaders from the NYC tri-state area representing all areas of the social sector.
